Market Minute Overtime: The Najarian Brothers

Jon Najarian and Pete Najarian.

Co-Founders of Market Rebellion.

Two of the most recognizable faces on Wall Street join Nicole Petallides for an in-depth conversation on the evolution and opportunities in trading.

Their 4th and latest book is available: “It’s Not an Option: Learning How to Trade Options Is No Longer An Option, IT’S A NECESSITY!”

Jon and Pete are not twins like many believe. In fact, they are the eldest and youngest in the birth order of 4 brothers. Their mantra is DDA: Discipline Dictates Action. Decisions every day.

Early in their careers, both the Najarian brothers were in the NFL, Pete with a notable career with the Minnesota Vikings and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Jon with a short career with the Chicago Bears . They believe It’s the discipline of a professional athlete that’s needed to be a professional trader.

Be disciplined in everything in your life. You must be disciplined to survive. Disciplined about taking profits. Disciplined about cutting losses. If you do that, you can do very well in the stock market, the brothers said together with enthusiasm.

When Nicole Petallides asked, “Are you very bullish,” Jon Najarian replied, “I am.” But he is prepared for volatility. With the recent volatility, they choose to be in this market – saying, in fact you’re smart to “take advantage of fear.” Jon Najarian also paraphrased Warren Buffett’s investment style: “if there is blood on the streets, that’s when you buy,” not when there’s greed.

Pete added that it’s amazing how quickly the market recovered, saying he thinks you’ll see retailers like Walmart (WMT) and Amazon (AMZN), which have many products from Asia, rebound.

On tech, Pete noted Amazon’s recent spike, while Jon also likes Amazons AWS. They also expressed some concern how many iPhones are really made abroad. As far as the sector, they feel we are closer to the beginning of the A.I. revolution than the end .

The Najarian brothers also give A+ to F- ratings for each asset class: Gold, Bitcoin, Dollar, U.S. Equities, and International Equities. You may be surprised by the grades each received.

Pete’s picks right now include financials, semiconductors, AMD (AMD), and Tesla (TSLA). Both impressed by full self-driving technology, they argue that Musk has the vision for robots, like Optimus , but also the data to achieve it. Pete adds that Elon’s Musk’s genius is something people cling on to. Stocks of interest include: Super Micro (SMCI), Netflix (NFLX), and NRG Energy (NRG). Meanwhile, they think American Eagle Outfitters (AEO) is in a transition and a name to watch.

They are definitely high energy and a real pleasure to spend time with during a great interview. Their many years of trading, four books, streaming content, and developing a trading platform they eventually sold for over $700 million, put Jon Najarian and Pete Najarian on another level. It’s a must-listen.
