Market Minute Overtime: This Dan Ives Interview Was Epic

This week's Market Overtime guest has been covering tech for over two decades and since the Covid era he's become a bastion of unwavering bull-market confidence. Of the 40 stocks he covers, not a single has a sell rating. You might call him a permabull, but if you faded his analysis, you'd be perma-broke.
Dan Ives' staunch support for controversial tech trades like Tesla (TSLA) and Palantir (PLTR) despite an entourage of haters has delivered an average 16% excess return over his peers, according to Bloomberg data. He's been so right that not only does he get away with the most flamboyant wardrobe on Television, he's been lauded for it as "Wall Street's Best-Dressed Man" by the New York Post. So please don't read into it too much that Dan wore dark colors to our nearly 30-minute interview.
We start by rewinding the clock a bit to discover the macroeconomic roots of the Artificial Intelligence revolution, which has largely proven to be a secular force more powerful than any of the short-term fluctuations of the general post-Covid economy.
It was fun hearing Ives' vision of the future, which is basically a Jetson's episode, which is basically verifiably under production currently around the world, from self-driving Waymos in San Francisco to flying cars in China and whatever weird robots they're making in Japan. It's pretty amazing how accurate sci-fi writers and cartoonists really did nail the current present from so far within the past.
But there are still doubters. I ask Dan about bitcoin, my personal blind-spot of skepticism, and Super-Secret Cyber Giant Palantir, somehow still in the blind spot of most analysts on Wall Street. In my entire career I've never seen such abnormally bearish asymmetry in sell-side coverage as on this so-called "controversial" stock, which still scares so many despite its clear capacity to change the world.
Don't miss this one, it's epic.
